Number Bonds

Number Bonds are simple and I am going to show you why they are simple.

Lets go with something easy. ( This works with any number bonds. )

46 + _____ = 100

Now you go

 4 + ______ = 9 which is 5

Next you do

6 + ________ = 10 which is 4

so you make 5 tenths and 4 ones which equals 54.

( The trick is to always make last number add to 10 and then add the rest of the numbers to 9.)
Try this equation out:

257 + ____ = 1,000

Remember the hundreds and tenths add up to 9 and the ones add up to 10.
